Top tips for dealing with a hangover

Good morningHard as we try, most of us cannot avoid the occasional evening of excess - and we know we are not alone.

But with high flying careers at stake and reputations to uphold, we know how to put our best feet forward the morning after. Read on to find out what some of our colleagues had in the way of advice…

Just a note of caution - we cannot be held responsible for the merits of these “cures” but there’s bound to be one idea that fits your bill:

  • Gareth says, “Take a pint of water, put 2 Alka-Seltzer and a Berocca in it and drink it before you go to bed. When you wake up, do it again. “
  • Alison says, “Drink 2 pints of water with a couple of neurofen before you go to bed and sleep on your tummy without a pillow.”
  • Brian recommends going swimming! (but we reckon this could be dangerous! - Ed.)
  • Sarah says nothing beats a jolly good fry up.
  • Louise says she once got advice from a college nurse who said natural yoghurt, dry toast and flat coke.
  • Andy recommends the age old favourite of hair-of-the-dog. Any particular dog, Andy?
  • Genevieve says: “Sleeping in until the afternoon, the Hollyoaks omnibus, followed by a short hair of the dog.” Or: “a bottomless cup of tea, plus a bacon, sausage and poached egg muffin - made and hand delivered by your other half.”
  • Jon’s suggestion: “Lucozade on the way in to work, a vat of tea, a bowl of oats for breakfast. At lunchtime avoid the heavy lunch and go for something light like a Niçoise salad and an apple with lots of water.”
  • Neill says: “Yakult and Ribena the night before and Lemsip and Lucozade in the morning, works like a dream.”
  • Matt’s top tip for the morning after: “Water, water, water, bacon sandwich, gym, orange juice “

So that’s how we try and deal with the morning after. Now over to you - how do you deal with the post party hangover?
